Users of Microsoft’s instant-messaging services can now click a “Report Abuse” button to alert law- enforcement officials to a conversation with a child predator. A news release by the UK’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre says that, with this button, “users from anywhere in the world can access the Virtual Global Taskforce – an international alliance of law enforcement agencies.”
Just what I wanted: a feature in a chat client to invite more government surveillance of my communications. How about a “Report spying by some NSA asshole” button?
