After the Supreme Court decision about corporate contributions in electoral campaigns, many bloggers are speculating that corporations have now been freed to “eliminate the middleman,” if you will, and run for office directly.

In this dystopian fantasy, corporations will be able to win federal office, giving a whole new meaning to phrases like “the Senator from Boeing.”

One commenter on Volokh.com said, “I hope corporations do run and win,” though he added that he didn’t see how they could serve if elected. Frankly, I think that’s the best part.
