According to a recent study, enrollment at for-profit colleges has increased 50% over the past couple years. Shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Absent a bottom line, people get lazy and corrupt. Greed is a powerful motivator. It causes quality to rise, and prices to fall, making the for-profit colleges a much better bar- gain than the big-name universities full of tenured incompetents.
