Take My Inflection — Please!

The remarks of Biden to the House Democratic caucus, October 28, 2021, tell us most of what we need to know about the decline of the American presidency.

It’s a horrifying reminder of the state of American politics, which has become a sandbox for senile babies.

Biden was whining and pleading — with whom, for what, and why?

With whom: with a gang of little Lenins representing districts so safe that they can afford to spend all their time making demagogic speeches.

For what: to be allowed to print only three trillion dollars of fiat money, instead of the five trillion the little Lenins demanded.

And why: so he can look like a commanding figure to foreign leaders who have already concluded he is the biggest sucker on the face of the earth.

The whimpering and wheedling are offensive. They are a horrifying reminder of the state of American politics, which has become a sandbox for senile babies.

But the reference to “an inflection point” is worse.

Who talks like that?

Nobody talks like that — which means that the people who do are nobodies.

“John, I want you to cut back on your drinking. We’re at an inflection point in our marriage.”

“I’m sorry, sir. Your meal will be out as soon as possible. Our kitchen is unfortunately at an inflection point.”

“Caesar realized that his campaign in Gaul was at an inflection point.”

“These are the inflection points that try men’s souls.”

Nobody talks like that — which means that the people who do are nobodies. They are people who do not read, do not think, and certainly do not talk with any people who do. They are socially entitled and credentialed people, people who believe that they should be obeyed because they — or, as with Biden, their speechwriters — can sling the lingo they learned in some college that taught them nothing else.

If you’re an emperor, and you want to prove that you have neither clothes nor brains, this is the way you talk. But it appears that the number of people who understand what you are is rapidly increasing.
